‘Fate of the Furious’ at #1 with $19.3 Million Weekend

All that said, it is one of the greenest weeks in memory at Rotten Tomatoes, the website that surveys movie reviews and gives an overall approval rating to each deserving feature, displayed in red. Or, as the case may be, the film gets a green tomato “splat” if the film is not recommended.

Only three of the top 10 movies this week have a red score and the best of those is Beauty and the Beast, which has a RT approval rating of 71 percent. This is followed by The Fate of the Furious with a rating of 66 percent and Gifted with a score of 64 percent.

That means seven out of the top 10 revenue earners this week are not recommended. Those include, in descending order, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which isn’t scored yet, The Boss Baby (53 percent approval), How to Be a Latin Lover (50 percent), Going In Style (44 percent), Smurfs: The Lost Village (38 percent), Unforgettable (26 percent) and The Circle (17 percent).
